Staff Scientist

We are a fast growing biotech startup and are looking for a curious, self-motivated, hungry to learn, Staff Scientist. Ideal candidate must be able to perform and manage high quality laboratory bench science in the field of Cell Biology/Immunology. The candidate must also have leadership capabilities to strive for innovation, not afraid to chart new scientific directions, is a problem solver and work well in a small team environment. In this unique role, you will work closely with the Company founders, the VP of Research as well as other Scientists in the Company, thus it offers significant growth potential in both Scientific and Management tracks. To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have at least 5 year experience working in a lab setting.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. You will also be responsible for managing team deadlines, and providing strategic scientific insights.

What we are looking for

• Minimum of 5 year’s of experience in a Cell Biology or Immunology lab is a must.
• Strong background in Integrin Biology.
• Strong expertise in mammalian (adherent and suspension cells) cell culture.
• Protein expression/purification, cell line generation and engineering (lentivirus etc.) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with FACS, ELISA and related immunology techniques is a must.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and research skills.
• Willing to do bench research. Some project management experience.
• Desire to be in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and the ability to work independently.

Education
PhD (with 2+ years of experience) in biological science, cell biology, immunology or relevant discipline. Recent graduates will be considered.
